•SOIS hosting SLIS
UW-Madison School of Library and Information Studies has proposed SOIS & SLIS hosting one another (in Milwaukee and Madison respectively). Ideas discussed were touring the Golda Meir Library Archives and dinner afterwards. A date has yet to be solidified, but we are hoping to have more information next meeting.
•UWM SAASC T-shirt Contest
Starting now until the end of October there will be a T-Shirt Contest to revamp the brilliant “Respect Des Fonds” T-Shirt. There will be a email sent out by October 5th with more information about the contest, guidelines, and a image of the current T-shirt to help craft ideas.
Brainstorming of fundraising initiatives were discussed below is a summary of tentative ideas:
-Sausage & Cheese Gift Packs
We welcome you to bring ideas at the next meeting and for our online students we welcome you to email ideas to email@example.com
Next semester we would like to use our budget towards an event/ symposium or apply funds to a repository by adopting an artifact. Again these ideas are tentative and we welcome ideas.
•UWM SAASC Open To All
The UWM SAASC would like to invite all interested SOIS Students as well as any other member of the general student body to join SAASC and participate as an active members, whether online or onsite all are welcomed.

Dr. Riter is Professor of Information Studies at the University of Alabama and will speak on how archival practice is defined through language.

Dennis Meissner is coming to UW-Milwaukee! One of the brains behind the innovative More Product, Less Process method of archival processing, Dennis Meissner is the Head of Collections Management at the Minnesota Historical Society and a Fellow of the Society of American Archivists. He is coming to Milwaukee to speak about the revolutionary, and sometimes controversial More Product, Less Process. Come see Dennis Meissner September 27th 2012 from 12-1:30 in UWM Union Room 181
